KEEP THE NORTON BALL FIELD AND DOYLE PARK AS PUBLIC OPEN SPACE
We, the undersigned members of the Port Gardner Neighborhood, ask the Everett School Board to preserve the Norton Ball Field and Doyle Park as open space.
For over 50 years, residents, friends, and the general community have used these parks as picnic, recreation and gathering places. And the Port Gardner Neighborhood Association’s efforts and time, along with donations and matching city grant funds and taxes have supported and helped maintain these Parks.
Our parks are essential to building and maintaining community, and we are concerned with preserving the character, quality of life and value of our neighborhood. We believe the Everett School Board should not sell or develop these valued public resources, and ask that they keep the Norton Ball Field and Doyle Park as open space. Not just for us, but for our children and our grandchildren.
Once these parks are gone, they are gone forever.
